Oregon School Nurses on Lice Removal

May 16, 2017/in Head Lice/by lcaadmin

Oregon Association of School Nurses Convention took place this April and Lice Clinics of Portland was thrilled to be present!

Lice Clinics of America was a sponsor of the Oregon Association of School Nurses Convention  Wilsonville.  Mark Meyer and George Macoubray the Oregon licensees for Lice Clinics of America Portland attended along with Dr. Krista Lauer the medical director of Lice Clinic of America.

Additional sponsors of the event included School Health, Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation, OEA Choice Trust and the National Association of School Nurses.

Nurses from all over the state attended. Nurses from every corner of the state made the trip to Wilsonville from Brookings, Astoria, Bend, Eugene, Klamath Falls, McMinnville and the Portland area.   Alice Sandusky from Brookings Harbor School District traveled the farthest.  Nicky Zimmerman the OSNA President presided over the event. She is with Portland Public Schools.    Officers included Kim Bartholomew the Oregon NASN Director from Beaverton. Kim Dixon is the OASN Treasurer and is from Beaverton School District .  Christy Middleton is Vice President of OASN and is a nurse in the Beaverton School District.    Nina Fekaris from the Beaverton School district is the president elect for the National Association of School Nurses.  Heather Godsey with Multnomah ESD attended from Portland.  Central Oregon was well represented with several nurses from the Bend-Redmond school district and the InterMountain ESD.

The conference included presentations and panel discussions.  Speakers included; Winston Cornwall Civil Rights Education specialist, Dr. Dale Willis Pediatric Endocrinologist and Sharon Lacy motivational Humorist.

Lice Clinics of America’s booth was well received. Most nurses in the Portland area are familiar with our patented, FDA cleared technology.   Nurses from around the state were excited that lice could be killed by using controlled heated air without any harmful chemicals or pesticides. They are looking forward to Lice Clinics of America Portland opening additional clinics around the state.

We appreciate the opportunity to be a part of the conference and look forward to next year.
